We operate a box scheme or a choice box giving you ease of ordering with a regular delivery or the flexibility to choose what you want.
Apologies for the lack of communication, we've been incredibly busy here and haven't had 5 minutes.
Firstly we want to say a very big thank you to the Telegraph Stella magazine for voting us one of six of the very best box schemes in the UK. We were astounded and delighted to find our little farm there with the multi million pound national schemes. It makes the relentless hard work worth it and a huge sense of achievement.
Looking to the future the potatoes are just about ready along with broad beans and carrots, we've planted endless amounts of purple sprouting and having only just run out of our salad leaf the next lot is just about there.
Over the winter we've managed to renovate the Old Piggery (which was derelict) recycling as much of the building materials as possible - so now there is a store for machinery giving us more room to work in the packing shed ....and a building which would have disappeared has been restored.
In the autumn I organised a trip for the Cool Food club at my daughters school to visit Antony Worrall Thompson in one of his restaurants. He gave the children a long talk on healthy eating and using good quality produce.
Having had a tour round a professional kitchen watching the chefs preparing the meals, they were given recipes of what they had eaten in the restaurant for them to cook at home - with the dishes specially designed for the children. They absolutely loved it. The day was finished off with a visit to a local organic farm to see just how chickens should be bred/cared for.
I think it is essential that our children are given the opportunity and skills to make informed judgements on food, not only enjoying cooking/eating but the social pleasures involved. I hope I can continue these events wherever possible.
